It's actually two sensors and a computer. There are two breadboards, but these just are places where the sensor mounts. The white wires are very long and should be replaced by a bluetooth module. The sensors are acoustic distance detection modules. They work by sending out a signal and then listening for a reflected wave. The Raspberry Pi monitors the output of both of the sensors.
